About
Forest Impact

We are a tree planting organization, that uses only native plants to preserve and rewild local and endangered species, where possible.

We are collaborative and always looking to learn more, share more, and grow more to make a bigger impact.

Our secondary goal is getting people back in touch with nature.

I grew up in the jungles of Brasil and feel that planting trees is a great thing, but it's not the same as a forest.  I fist came across the Miyawaki methodology while reading the book "Project Drawdown" and was immediately drawn to the idea.  Only after settling into Lisbon was I able to start getting involved.  All roads kept leading to Shubendu and Afforest, so I took the plunge and joined the course.

As we start to emerge from the Covid lockdown in 2021, I start to put into motion this concerted effort to plant our first forest this winter.

If a journey starts with the first step, then my journey has begun.  I look forward to continuing sharing, learning, collaborating and being inspired by those ahead; and in turn, inspire and help those behind me, just beginning their journey.
